Living off Grid in the High Desert, Taos, New Mexico

Jeanne SuperTramp is a traveler, and after a lifetime on the road, she decides to lay roots. But not so much in a traditional way.

Jeanne bought a cheap block of land in the high desert sage bush country of Two Peaks, just out of Taos, New Mexico. All houses in this area are off the grid, meaning people rely on alternative energy sources such as solar and wind.

The desert dwellers of Two Peaks are known as Sage Monkeys by the townsfolk. Some wear it with pride, some see it as derogatory.
