I love an old style Aussie pub, a place you can go for a quiet one and find out what is happening in the neighbourhood. They’ve become a bit of an endangered species of late, with the advent of pokies and cheap supermarket booze. But if you look hard enough, some fine examples of the classic Aussie pub still exist!
The Footscray Club, although not a pub, has the same homely feel as a pub! Reasonable priced drinks, hearty meals and plenty of new faces up for a chat.
The Footscray Club is the oldest registered business in Footscray and is run as a social club, with members paying a yearly fee. I speak with Gary, the manager and barman about the club and meet some of the patrons.
Max, you made the cut! 🙂
