Travel Blogger, Samuel Jeffery of http://nomadicsamuel.com/ interviews Traveling Filmmaker, Mark Shea of http://www.overlander, getting tips on how to make videos, how to interview people and what gear to use.
How do you take videos of yourself while getting yourself in shot e.g. with the young Japanese guy you met? I’m pretty sure you travel alone so I’m intrigued!
My xf100 has a lcd screen, I handhold camera in front of me and face LCD towards myself to frame shot. Occasionally you will see me glance to one side to check framing or audio levels. You don’t need a gym membership with this method, you get ‘video guns of steel’ 🙂 I can handhold the xf100 for about 3-4 minutes
Bloody hell – you hold it so still – never occurred to me you were just holding it!
I’ve found that when a face is in frame, the human eye focuses on the face and doesn’t notice the movement as much.
Inspiring, as always. Gives me hope that what I long to do, can be done.
