Korean Ginseng, Learn all about it’s health benefits.

Interesting story about how this interview came about. On Wednesday last week I decided I would like to do a story on Korean Ginseng after reading about it’s benefits on the internet. So I put out a message on South Korean Facebook and couch surfing groups. Within 10 minutes someone replied to me on Facebook with a contact from the USA, the son of Shi Keum, the chairman of the Korea Ginseng Association. Only problem was Mr Keum did not speak English, so I needed a translator. I put out a call for anyone wanting to help with translation on couch surfing and that day Minji took up my offer.

This is the english version of the interview with Mr Keum, with Minji providing translation ( I will upload the Korean version also)

We discuss the health benefits of Ginseng, why Korean Ginseng is considered the best in the world, what varieties of Ginseng are available, such as Red and Mountain Ginseng, how Ginseng can be taking and who should take it.

This coming Wednesday I will be visiting the Geumsan province, which is the main area where Ginseng is grown to film how Ginseng is farmed and manufactured.

Korean Shuffle, Hongdae Seoul

I visit the Hongdae area which is one of Seoul’s best districts to go out in. Fellow Australian Jason explains to me that the dance moves the locals are doing, originated in Melbourne Australia and were spread around the world by online video. The original dance was called the ‘Melbourne Shuffle’.

Teaching English in South Korea, Great Expat jobs around the world!

I share a cave meal with fellow youtubers Evan and Rachel at the Dragon’s Dream Restaurant in Busan.

They have been teaching English in Korea for two years and discuss why it is such a great job for expats.

Good wage, free accommodation, health insurance, up to 3 months holidays and cheap cost of living expenses, teaching English in Korea certainly sounds fantastic!

There are two Mr Egg Hostels, Original; which offers the cheapest private on suite rooms in Busan and View; which offers dorm rooms with ocean views. I speak with the young owners, Sean and John. Hostels both offer free breakfast, wi fi and laundry.

So you want to travel the world, the lessons learnt 9.5 mths in!

At the start of my round the world travel video adventure I made a video talking about the 7 things I wanted to achieve on my trip. 9.5 mths in I look back on what I have achieved. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VgzCP2pE44

The seven goals were:
*To see the world
*To film the world
*To get paid to film the world
*To get fit
*To find a traveling partner
*To make a difference
*To find a home

And what have I learnt from my travels, to observe and not react, that my view of the word is determined by the way I was brought up and the culture I was raised in. And most importantly, ‘Without people you are nothing!’
